INTEGRATIVE ACUPUNCTURE is a multidimensional system of medicine based on the premise that humans are more than just physical beings alone. We are mental, emotional, and spiritual entities living in a complex cultural and environmental context. Oftentimes, we are disconnected from the natural world that gives us life.
INTEGRATIVE ACUPUNCTURE is based on a unique style of classical medicine that combines the extraordinary benefits of acupuncture, acupressure, and massage within a multi-disciplinary treatment team approach. It differs from conventional medicine in that it requires the client to become an active participant in the healing process. Treatment strategies are designed and implemented based on the diagnostic results and recommendations from a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nutritionists, and other medical providers. By working with clients in an intuitive, goal-oriented manner, we strive to achieve optimal health, self-awareness, and longevity.
INTEGRATIVE ACUPUNCTURE involves the insertion of filiform metallic needles into the superficial layers of the skin, combined with the application of acupressure and other massage techniques. This practice is used to stimulate the body’s own energy, through an intricate system of internal pathways, to naturally restore balance and harmony to the individual. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulates acupuncture needles just as it does other devices, such as surgical scalpels and hypodermic syringes, and the occurrence of adverse events in the practice of acupuncture has been documented to be extremely low. Clients are fully informed of their treatment options, expected prognosis, relative risks, and safety practices to minimize any concerns prior to treatment. Since acupuncture is considered to be a non-toxic, non-invasive approach to health, it is appropriate for children, adults, the elderly, very sensitive people, and those in frail health.
INTEGRATIVE ACUPUNCURE can assist with the treatment of many acute and chronic conditions, including psychological disorders, addiction, recovery, insomnia, migraines, injuries, gastrointestinal problems, respiratory illnesses, infertility, PMS, and others, especially if pain management is required. As in any form of healing, the patient’s attitude, mental/emotional state, diet, inner strength, and lifestyle will affect the course of treatment. To prepare for a session, patients should expect a visit to last anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes in length and are advised to wear loose-fitting clothing with minimal jewelry and accessories. |
