Reflection

when i looked into the mirror
last night
i didn't see myself
staring back at me, were all the expectations
of an unlived life
but i knew this couldn't be right

i ran into fields of spring flowers
fresh with living and satin petals
i saw myself in the way the broke through winter's ground

i watched a harbor boat bump against the shore
and knew how i too, always find home

there in the night sky, thousands of stars
all a part of something, painting a picture
for me below, navigating a sailor
to new lands

i am a beautiful story of colors, if you look
long enough
i am a way to get to the rolling hills of possibility
in a far away place
